Helloo...my beloved Ilandmates,
I think so far 2008 is going gr8 for all of you......but not for many...like this poor starlet "Shriya".
The beginning of 2008 has carried along the controversy of "Moral Policing" one witnessed in the past....and the poor female-celebrities being a soft target.
The only new thing about the current controversy is...its Shriya this time and not "Kushboo", who currently holds the world record for more number of controversies.
So, its like one of my Friend (a fellow tamilian) found the outfits worn by "Shriya" in a public function (not just a public function... its the silver jubilee function of "Shivaji" presided by the C.M. of Tamilnadu himself...) to be offensive, demoralising and hurting the sentiments of a particular religion and tamil culture, at large.
When I saw the pikis of shriya in the said function (above).., i found nothing that is offensive or obscene. Basically it was all done for cheap publicity and the media, right from the local dailies...till Rediff..... wrote columns and stories about this issue.. and hence the purpose of my Friend is solved.
I just wonder, how a person claiming to be part of a relegious activist group, cud think of drafting such petitions..go to a Police Station..file a complaint....and rising to glory (read publicity...) in a shortcut., when there are loads of social issues to be taken care of at Tamilnadu..like..child molestation cases, rape, eve teasing, sexuall harassements for ladies at work places and everywhere..even in places of relegious worship ( not limited to any particular relegion).... which my friend might have felt .."is all part and parcel of Tamil culture....,which need not be taken care of..????" Luckily Tamilnadu Police had rejected his petition, stating they cannot take action on a person for "wearing a dress"..???!!! Still, poor Shriya had apologised..!
I donno..., if my friend may think the various sculptures found in the temples of south India are of "alien culture"..??? and temples like Kajuraho...are the remains of "British Raj" in India..?? May be i could provide couple of leads... for my dear friend to file some more petitions to safeguard "tamil culture"...! I hope my friend was not sleeping while Trisha attended this function at Chennai...
or ..may be he might have been too obsessed with this picture...so as it was his moment of madness, he forgot to write a petition...instead ended up "j***ing off"...??!! Better late than never my friend..you can still sue Trisha.
There was also this incident, where a Tamil Female orator was not allowed to attend a function (where she was one of the guests) hosted by a prestigious college in Chennai for the reason "not wearing a Duppatta, over n above her Tops"...Howz that my mates..??
So, tomorrow if you are at Tamilnadu dont be surprised if you are accused for not wearing a Duppatta...and even if you are wearing one..., may be someone may accuse of it "not in place". May be if the following picture had ever came out in tamilnadu dailies.... even gurlz cud have been banned to wear a salwar kameez / churidar...!!!!
(when comparing the above...i dont think the costume of shreya..is more kinky unlike this which would feed to some voyueristic pleasure.) Moreover i do feel....that the very purpose of inventing a "Duppatta" is not-at-all honoured by the gurlz now a days...am i right..??
A word of advice to the Models & Fashion Show organisers.... never dare to think of a "Wardrobe Malfunction" in the territory of Tamilnadu.... you would be deported & shall face exile...!!!!
Anyways.., I wish media should not throw light on any such kind of silly issues and rather bring out certain burning issues for the attention of general public...!!!
Above all, i do beleive "Saree" is by far the sexiest of all the outfits....for an Indian Women..!!
What say buddies..??
Just Chill......!!!!!!
~!gift!~
N.B.: May be my iland may get banned at Tamilnadu for hurting the sentiments of fellow Tamils..???
